This lot is part of our direct trade initiative with producers from the Jimma region in Ethiopia.
Ibrahim Rashid inherited his coffee farm in 2001, marking the beginning of his journey as a coffee producer. As a third-generation coffee farmer, he owns a 14.5-hectare coffee farm located in Kenemesa Kebele, specifically in Haro, within Gomma Woreda. Ibrahim is a member of Tokuma Coffee Farmers and began exporting coffee in 2023.
The unique quality of this coffee is truly special. It comes from a traditional local Ethiopian variety, identified as strain 74110, which was developed in the 1970s at the Jimma Agricultural Research Center (JARC). This variety was selected from a mother tree in the village of Bishari.
After manually harvesting the coffee cherries, only those that have reached optimal ripeness are selected. Subsequently, the coffee beans undergo an anaerobic fermentation process and are then sun-dried on African beds for a period of 21 days, until they reach the desired moisture level.
We roast to order, which means we don't keep roasted coffee in stock at the shop.
As a matter of routine, we have three roasting days per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (excluding public holidays). If you place your order before 8:00 a.m. on one of those days, your coffee will be roasted that same day; otherwise, it will be roasted the next day.
Orders are sent to their destination the day after they are toasted (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday respectively).
Please note that if your order does not contain coffee, it will be shipped the next business day after it is placed and will arrive at its destination within the following 48 hours (excluding holidays).
Shipping costs are calculated during the checkout process.
